This class is a combination of gentle yoga, deep stretches and SMR (Self-Myofascial Release) therapy; perfect for relaxation! You can expect to hold postures for longer periods of time to allow for deep opening of connective tissues. Stretching coupled with SMR therapy will dramatically improve your range of motion (flexibility) than just stretching alone. SMR is great for relieving MPS (myofascial pain syndrome) also referred to as muscle pain. 

What is SMR? 

Self-Myofascial Release (SMR)  is a therapeutic approach that focuses on relieving muscle pain that affects the fascia (connective tissue that covers the muscles). It is a hands-on technique that works to relax, lengthen and realign your fascia, thus increasing your flexibility. The goal is to bring you pain relief and increase your range of motion using props such as lacrosse balls.

This is a very popular choice for BEGINNERS or to take after a faster-paced class. It is perfect before bedtime as it helps calm the nervous system, enabling your body to relax, release, & unwind.


Flexy specializes in flexibility and is certified by the CPFA (Canadian Pole Fitness Association) in flexibility and has studied self-myofascial release. She is also a curated speaker at Robertson College in Winnipeg, MB for their Massage Therapy Program. She has presented on the topics of yoga, flexibility, and SMR therapy for the college.


All classes are finished with an essential oil infused warm compress (East St. Paul location.)
